Organic Matter Compost
Compost, fresh from our farm. A variety organic matter gathered from our chicken and lambing facilities is all that goes into this compost. We use untreated bedding such as straw and hemp shavings, with the occasional application of lime and diatomaceous earth for odor and pest control, along with the natural waste products of our animals to build a deep litter base in these facilities over 6-8 months. After that, we scoop it up, and combine them into large compost piles that get plenty of fresh air and sunlight. We monitor them for heat production, turning as needed, allowing the natural microbes to do their job. Once the process is complete, we hand bag it & pass it along to you. The combination of input from our sheep and organic matter make this a very well rounded fertilizer for all your gardening needs. Because sheep manure is not high in nitrogen, it is safe to apply directly to soil to amend, or even used as potting material for container gardening.
